Kind Labs Project

The Kind Labs Project is a not-for-profit effort to shift design and engineering from meeting the needs of everyone to meeting the needs of individuals, especially those who are normally left out in our considerations during the design process. The vast majority of products are designed to meet the needs of "everyone", but lets be real, that's an impossible task. Just as no two people are the same, neither are the needs of two people. These business practices and morals result in the short comings or even failures of products as many users and their needs are left behind. There are more problems worth solving than just the profitable ones.

We want to help people find enriching solutions to their every day problems, whether that’s modifying an existing product to meet their needs or something from the ground up. It doesn’t matter how simple or "out there" it is, we are up for the challenge.

The best part is that every project that we do will be open source so everyone can make and/or modify these designs to help members of their local communities. With these goals in place, we intend to create solutions that will not only enable people to live their lives more earnestly, but also reduce the amount of products that just gather dust or end up in landfills by offering solutions that are purposefully built and easily repairable.
